Step into History!


The first mobile virtual reality (VR) guided tour in Israel

Explore Jerusalem today while discovering Jerusalem during the time of the 2nd Temple built by King Herod 2000 years ago using virtual reality headsets.

The tour guides visitors through the Tower of David Museum with viewpoints of Jerusalem today while all the while visitors can taste Jerusalem from 2000 years ago.

The tour guide will explain the mysteries of the city and simply by putting on the headset in the right location, the magic of virtual reality will fill in the missing pieces and provide the visitor with a full picture and a deeper understanding of Herod’s Jerusalem.

The views and the scenes in the VR reconstructions replicate the city and the Second Temple that King Herod built some 2000 years ago.

Days of the Mandate in Jerusalem

Last chance to see the exhibitions!

A guided tour that takes you through two exhibitions and back to the days of the British Mandate in Jerusalem. The tour starts in the exhibition, “A General and a Gentleman – Allenby at the Gates of Jerusalem”, which showcases the dramatic week in the history of Jerusalem when Allenby declared the release of the city from the grip of the Ottomans and which will examine the original display items from those fateful days. This is the last week of the exhibition.

The tour continues with a visit to the exhibit, “London in Jerusalem” in which visitors can experience the European cultural milieu of Jerusalem. Here the cultural mosaic of the city is explored and the social, national, and security tensions which were part and parcel of Jerusalem during the Mandate will be discussed.

Night Spectacular and KING DAVID

Using the latest in laser technology, the ancient walls of Jerusalem’s citadel are illuminated with a blaze of breathtaking high definition images, vibrant cinematography, stirring music and light with the two night experiences outside at the Tower of David Museum.

KING DAVID, the new night experience, projects the story of shepherd to king on the ancient walls of the citadel all the while giving the audience a virtual tour through great works of art inspired by the biblical king. The Night Spectacular, the spectacular sound and light show that reveals the 3000 year old story of Jerusalem brings the city’s story to life.

A guided tour through the permanent exhibition

Explore the history of Jerusalem as you walk through the city’s timeline in and out of the Ottoman built guard rooms in Jerusalem’s citadel. Here you can discover over 3000 years of history in a guided tour in English of the permanent exhibition of the Tower of David Museum which traces the history of Jerusalem from the Canaanite period until the establishment of the State of Israel.

Price included in the entrance fee.

  • English tour every Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday at 11:00am
  • No registration. Participation based on available space

Observation Point

It is worth the climb to the top of the Phasael Tower built by King Herod 2000 years ago for unbeatable views of Jerusalem.  From the top of the tower, you enjoy a panoramic, 360- degree vista including the Old City of Jerusalem and the newer neighborhoods, the four Quarters of the Old City, Mt. of Olives, Mt. Scopus and the Judean desert stretching down to the Dead Sea.

Cost for entry to the Observation Point only: 15 NIS

From Herod's Palace to British Prison

A guided tour in English of the Citadel Moat and the Kishle Excavations


A guided tour of both the Citadel moat and the” Kishle”, one of the most fascinating hidden spaces in the Tower of David Museum compound .  During the archaeological excavations that took place on site 20 years ago, a “timeline” of Jerusalem was discovered from stone walls that date back to the First Temple Period, the remains of Herod’s palace and tanneries and dying pools from the Middle Ages up until the walls of Suleiman the Magnificent and prison etchings on the wall of the British Mandate prison.
