Sunrise Photography Workshop at the Tower of David

In no other place in the world is it possible to stand on a 2,000 year old fortified tower and photograph panoramic sunrise pictures of the city which is the focal point for the entire world.

In this sunrise photography workshop, practice methods for measuring light, take pictures at the first hint of morning light, and climb to photograph from the observation point of the Tower of David minaret, generally closed to the public. There will be several exercises in photographic composition throughout the Citadel, and for dessert set out to photograph in the Jaffa Gate Square. During the workshop, we will relate to the local history of the places you will photograph.

Workshop will be led by Yaniv Alon, photographer and tour guide. Workshop is appropriate for photography enthusiasts and also for people with no background in the field. Bring your camera or your cell phone.

Urban and Nature Photography Workshop in Magical Ein Kerem

Photography workshop in the alleyways of magical Ein Kerem. Wander and photograph the small streets, between the alleyways of the ancient village, and also in the natural setting of the valley next to the village spring. Practice urban, color photography, learn macro photography used by nature photographers, and try also aerial photography. During the tour, hear historical stories about the exciting people who lived in the village.

Note: If the Church of St. John the Baptist is open, we will go into its courtyard, and whoever is interested can enter the church itself for a few minutes. Please dress modestly.

Black and White Photography Workshop in the Old City

The classic language of photography is preserved in the unique medium of black and white photography. Experiment in 2 main areas: geographic photography and portraiture. Narrow alleyways, rooftops, arches, and people from every denomination are the subject of this workshop. Learn how to tell a story with photography, experiment in taking photos from unconventional angles, and learn how to do a professional portraiture. Workshop incorporates a tour of the Armenian and Jewish Quarters and the main streets of the market. During the tour, become familiar with several interesting, historical places and even see black and white pictures from the past.
