Embark on a tour celebrating 100 years since the founding of the Hebrew University, focusing on its story and its transformation into one of the most important academic institutes in Israel and the world.
Walk the university paths and the labyrinths of the building that, until recently, was the largest concrete building in the Middle East. Visit the tomb of Nicanor where the bones of Pinsker and Ussishkin were hidden for 100 years; and learn about the never realized idea of establishing a national, Zionist pantheon. Continue towards the historical buildings and a mural commemorating the cornerstone laying ceremony of the university. Learn about the university’s synagogue, and visit an exhibit dedicated to the poet Leah Goldberg, who taught at the university. Finish at the theater that looks out over the Judean desert.
Meeting Point: Across from Gate 1 at the university next to the founders’ wall.
