Dr. Amichai Schwartz
The Tower of David Citadel is one of the most obvious monuments of Jerusalem, and also one of the many fields of study of the late Professor Ronnie Ellenblum. On the tour, we will examine the impressive development of the Citadel in the days of the First Crusader Kingdom (1099-1187 CE), the place of the royal Crusader palace, and the development of the city of Jerusalem. It is an in depth tour of the Citadel, incorporating different insights from Ronnie’s research, and includes entry to some of the Citadel’s hidden spaces and the Kishle complex.
Meeting point: Tower of David Jerusalem Museum, entrance pavilion, next to Mamilla Rd.
