With the Crusader conquest of Jerusalem, a great need arose for medical services to tend to the sick, injured, and dying from the battle for the city and from the actual journey of the Crusades.  Surprisingly, a group of knights took this mission upon themselves, and over time became the wealthiest and most powerful order.  The tour passes the main Hospitaller sites in the Christian Quarter.

Meeting point: Tower of David Jerusalem Museum, entrance pavilion, next to Mamilla Rd.
