The Musrara neighborhood, with its stone Arab houses beside higher institutes of film and cinema attracting students with dreams, sometimes hides crossroads and challenges for Israeli society.
Tour in the first Arab neighborhood outside of the city walls. Learn about the first residents of the neighborhood, hear about the battles in the Independence War, the days of the ceasefire lines and the days of the large Jewish immigration from Muslim countries, and hear the story of a group of young people who succeeded to awaken the entire country to the struggles against deprivation and poverty.
Wander the alleyways of the picturesque neighborhood connected to the Black Panthers, and explore, through this little neighborhood, questions that occupied an entire nation – relations between Arabs and Jews, social challenges and relations between secular and ultra-orthodox. Finish by sitting together over a shot of Arak and some seeds and end the tour with hope.
Tour for young adults up until age 35.
In conjunction with Barutina – program of events for the young scene in the center of the city
