Tour and Gallery talk at the exhibit “Umbilicus ” guided by the Director of the Museum, Eilat Lieber, with the artists featured in the exhibit
For the first time in the Kishle space, a modern Israeli art exhibit is being presented, featuring works from Israel’s leading artists. “Umbilicus” is a multi-voiced, multi-sensory exhibit that is both physical and metaphorical, and invites the viewer to create a system of personal and universal symbols connecting to the ideas of navel, midpoint, and the world. Through different techniques – video, painting, presentations, and sound – the works of Hannan Abu-Hussein, Sharon Balaban, Matan Daskal, Yehudit Sasportas, Sahar Azimi, Merav Shinn Ben-Alon, and Lihi Turjeman intertwine and act in synergy in the ancient space.
Artists featured in the exhibit: Hannan Abu-Hussein, Sharon Balaban, Matan Daskal, Yehudit Sasportas, Sahar Azimi, Merav Shinn Ben-Alon, Lihi Turjeman. Curators: Dr. Adina Kamien, Malu Zayon.
