Five Poets who spent time in Jerusalem, wrote about the city in their poems, and also painted it. Against the backdrop of the beautiful neighborhoods of Sha’arei Hesed and Rehavia we will meet Else Lasker-Schuler, one of the greatest Jewish poets in Germany; Rachel who looked for love in Jerusalem; multi-talented Leah Goldberg; Zelda, trailblazer of the ultra-orthodox street; and Yona Wallach, the bold expressionist.
Tour passes initially through an ultra-orthodox neighborhood. Please dress modestly.
Tour inspired by the exhibit “Jerusalem School”, presented in the new gallery at the Tower of David Jerusalem Museum and at HaMiffal center for art and culture, in honor of 100 years of Jerusalem art.
Meeting Point: Ussishkin St. corner of HaGra St., next to the entrance to Evelina de Rothschild School
