Sukkot Melodies

During Sukkot there will be a variety of stations and tours for the entire family in the Citadel spaces:

Creative and musical workshops, story theater, costumes, musical tour with headphones, and guided tours in the galleries and the Citadel spaces. There will also be a sukkah for those who are interested.

Entry for children is free! 🤸‍♀️

Stations:

Station 1: Musical story theater with a looper: Wandering Ayelet | Razia Mizrahi
Interactive musical arrangement for the beloved story by Rinat Hoffer, “Ayelet Metayelet”.
Location: Spice Garden
11:30am, 12:30pm, 1:30pm, 2:30pm, 3:30pm, 4:30pm (last performance)

Station 2: Wandering melodies: Workshop with instruments from around the world | E-dan Sekler
Inspired by melodies from faraway lands, musical instruments from around the world wander from country to country, sukkah to sukkah, and arrive here, at the Tower of David.
Through the songs of King David, Israeli songs, and inspired by songs from faraway lands, musical instruments from the world made their way to the Tower of David, from sukkah to sukkah, from country to country.
Location: Olive Tree

Station 3: Musical tour with headphones – Guiding and music in the Citadel galleries and the courtyards
Musical tour incorporating wireless headphones with special guiding that will lead participants – big and small – to dance, laugh, and also learn the connection between the Tower of David, songs, and Jerusalem.
Tour every half hour: 11:15am, 11:45am, 12:15pm, 12:45pm, 1:15pm, 1:45pm, 2:15pm, 2:45pm, 3:15pm, 3:45pm, 4:15pm
Tour Length: 35 mins

Station 4: Tours for families in the Citadel spaces
Tours for children and the entire family in the Museum galleries
Route 1: In the footsteps of the pilgrims. Departs every hour on the hour (from 11:00am – last tour begins at 4:00pm)
Route 2: The Citadel and observation point. Tour leaves every hour on the half hour (from 11:30am – last tour begins at 3:30pm)
Tour length: 40 mins
Meeting point: Next to the central stage

Station 5: Creative workshop
Create wind chimes and flying butterflies inspired by artist Zadok Ben-David’s exhibit displayed in the Museum.

Station 6: Costume booth
Location: David statue

Station 7: Family musical quiz
Musical quiz for the entire family about songs of Jerusalem and more.
Location: Stone platform, next to Gallery 7
From 11:00am, every 20 mins (last quiz at 4:20pm)

Station 8: Ascent to the Tower of David Minaret – at an additional cost of 15 NIS per person, tickets can be purchased here

The Tower of David’s sukkah is open to all, next to HaMigdal Cafe
