Jerusalem for Four Hands
The Animated Films of Emmanuel Luzzati and Giulio Gianini
For nearly two decades, the Tower of David has presented the animated film, “Jerusalem”, as a whimsical introduction to the Museum exhibition. Created by Emmanuel Luzzati and Giulio Gianini, the film recounts the history of Jerusalem in the unique animated style developed by the two artists. Their famous brand of two-dimensional animation combines bold color, humor, fantasy and music.
The exhibition was an opportunity to present the film “Jerusalem” as a window into the rich repertoire of Luzzati’s and Gianini’s work. It offered a backstage view of the film’s creation, and focused on typical techniques and the colorful language that were common to many of their films.
