Michael and the Monster of Jerusalem

“Michael and the Monster of Jerusalem” was reissued in honor of the exhibition, “Jerusalem for Four Hands” – The animated films of Emanuele Luzzati and Giulio Gianini. The book was originally published in 1989 to coincide with the opening of the Tower of David Museum of the History of Jerusalem.

Written by noted Israeli author, Meir Shalev and richly illustrated by the artist, Emanuele Luzzati, the book traces the history of the city of Jerusalem through the imagination of a little boy as he takes an incredible journey with a very remarkable monster. The amusing text and fanciful images introduce children and young readers to the history of the city, from the time of King David to the present day. The original introduction to the book by former Mayor Teddy Kollek is included.
