LIVE: Purim in the BANAI Exhibition (In Hebrew)
Come view the Book of Esther, the Megillah, that Meir Banai gave his wife, Bechora Malka, as an engagement gift; and through it - march together along the wonderful path between Persia and Israel between the cities of Shushan, Shiraz, and Jerusalem.
Listen to stories written in the Jewish community of Persia that focus on the personality of Queen Esther; learn about the traditions of celebration of the holiday of Purim that developed in the community; virtually visit the place where, according to tradition, Mordechai and Esther are buried (and discover why different religions see the tomb as a holy place), and celebrate with a musical feast featuring classic, traditional Persian music.
Tal Kobo, curator of the exhibit “BANAI - a Musical Journey from Persia to Jerusalem” | Orly Rahimiyan, Researcher, History of Jews in Iran | Menashe Sasson and Farzane Cohen, Ensemble Golha - classic Persian folk music.
From February 22, the BANAI exhibition is open to visitors. For more information>
