A moving musical experience incorporating selichot prayer melodies (piyutim)

A Selichot and piyutim show with “Tahrir” just before Rosh Hashanah

Tuesday, September 19th | 20:00 | 18 NIS (and one arak chaser on the house)

The Tower of David Museum and “Tahrir – Mizrahi Culture Bar” are excited to invite you to a Selichot event in the “Tahrir” style.

Just before Rosh Hashanah, you are invited to an evening of Selichot and arak, piyutim, and warm embraces.

“Selichot in the Tahrir Style,” is a moving musical experience, incorporating the Sephardic version of Selichot prayer melodies from Iraq, and Morocco. Mizrahi Israeli soul songs and Ashkenazic melodies will also be played.

Do you want to ask forgiveness but don’t know what the right time and place is?

Come with your friends to “Selichot in the Tahrir Style” at the Tower of David.

20:00 – Doors open – We’ll start the evening with cold beer from the barrel, conversation, and sitting on the grass with Mizrahi soul music. As they say at Tahrir, “we drink and forget so we’ll be able to forgive.”

21:30 – Selichot Show – The show will take place on the main stage and will feature fourteen leading musicians.

Eliyahu Dagmi – guitar and bağlama, Ilan Kenan – bass, Ofer Benita – drums, Elad Kimchi – percussion instruments, Sarel Hacohen – qanun, Yehuda Yona – oud, Hanani Zayit – ney, Ronel Ratzon – violin
