Morning Activities:

1. Active Space:

In the air-conditioned tent in the citadel moat, we will have an activity space which will engage and encourage children to create with paper and cardboard, while placing an emphasis on sustainability and recycling.

  • Active Space dates: 15/7 – 30/8
  • Sunday – Thursday, Between 10:00-15:00
  • Included in museum entrance fees
  • The Active Space will not be open on Friday or Saturday

2. Activity Booklet

Families with children can enjoy a visit to the exhibit with an independent activity booklet, appropriate for children.

The booklet is available in Hebrew and English and includes a wide variety of challenges and a map upon which shows the location of the statues on the museum grounds.

  • Appropriate for children ages 5-10
  • For 10NIS, You can purchase a special workbook at the ticket office from July 15 – August 31, any day of the week during regular museum operating hours


Afternoon Activities:

1. Guided tour of the exhibit (Hebrew):

An active tour including the statues, the figures and the techniques used to create them.  We will see how Karen Sargsyan incorporates stories and legends of Jerusalem’s personalities and integrates them with different media to create his art.

  • Monday, Wednesday, Thursday (Starting from 16.7 – 30.8)
  • At 16:00, 17:00, 18:00
  • The tour is free
  • Registration is required at the registration desk in the museum which is open during the hours of the activities.

2. Art Workshop:

As part of our summer family  activities, workshops will be held for children to experiment various techniques of art with paper and soft materials for creating works in a variety of shapes and sizes.

  • Monday, Wednesday, Thursday (Starting from 16.7 – 30.8)
  •  At 16:30, 18:00 (Length of workshop:  45-60 minutes)
  • 30NIS per participant
  • Number of spaces is limited (Registration is required)

Workshop schedule:

Mondays: Paper Making with Aviv Ventura

Wednesdays: Collage with Ruthy Isboutsky

Thursdays: Magnetic easel for scrap booking with Hadas Kasir

  • (These activities will not occur on July 30, August 1, August 23 due to other events are scheduled at the museum.)
  • On all dates of the afternoon programs, the ticket office will be open until 6:00pm and the rooms of the museum will be open until 7:00pm.
