The key to the city\u2019s secrets and treasures, however, is locked deep underground where the historical events that shaped the city\u2019s character are exposed.  The Kishle, used in the past as a police station and prison, sitting south of the Tower of David and next to the walls of the Old City.  During the British Mandate, the building was used for prisoners from the Jewish Underground and the Etzel.
