Tour of the “Jerusalem School” exhibits at the Tower of David and HaMiffal, marking 100 years of Jerusalem creativity. Begin with a tour of the “Spirit of Stone” exhibit in the new gallery at the Tower of David (Curator: Tal Kobo), presenting Hebrew art in Jerusalem until the 1950’s. Among the artists whose works are featured in the exhibit: Boris Schatz, Ze’ev Raban, Joseph Zaritzky, Else Lasker-Schuler, Anna Ticho and more.
Afterwards, take a short walk to HaMiffal for a visit to the exhibit “Forsaken Zone,” featuring Israeli art in Jerusalem from the 1950’s until today. The exhibit examines the essence of modern Jerusalem art, and the way it connects to the physical space and to history, and to socal, civil activities.
