Embark on a biographical and musical tour centered on Yehoram Gaon’s songs, memories, and family roots.
The tour begins at Mt. Zion and continues through the alleyways of the Jewish Quarter to the Yehoram Gaon exhibit at the Tower of David Jerusalem Museum.
Follow Yehoram Gaon’s childhood memories from his grandfather’s home in the Old City, through the scenes of the sellers in the market, Ha-Yehudim St, and the kabbalistic yeshiva Beit El, where we will hear the secrets and the leadership that inspired his grandfather and the group of Kabbalists who surrounded him. Continue to the courtyard of the Sefardi synagogues, and hear about Gaon’s father who researched the Judaism of Sefarad and about his mother’s and grandmother’s special ceremonies.
The tour will conclude with a visit to the interactive exhibit dedicated to Gaon’s seven decades of creativity – as an artist, actor, and singer who became a national symbol and the soundtrack of a generation.
The tour will be accompanied by the well-known songs of Gaon, which we will hear and sing together.
Meeting point: Mt. Zion
Ending point: Tower of David Jerusalem Museum
