*Entrance to galleries is included in the entrance ticket to the Museum*
The new permanent exhibition at the Tower of David Jerusalem Museum invites visitors on a journey to the center of the world, Jerusalem. A city sacred to 3 religions: Judaism, Christianity, and Islam. The exhibition spans 10 galleries blending archaeological finds, historical documents, and artistic works together with innovative, interactive stations, specially produced video-art, and films created exclusively for the exhibition.
Discover the city coveted by empires, from the East to the West, over the course of almost 4000 years. Explore both the physical Jerusalem and the Jerusalem that symbolizes the eternal connection between God and humanity. Celebrate Jerusalem as an interfaith and multicultural meeting place through the holiday cycle of all 3 religions, brought to life in an unusual and intimate installation created by illustrator David Polonsky and composer Amit Hai Cohen; Experience a bird’s eye view of the city through a beautiful 19th century model that captures a moment in time when Jerusalem began to expand beyond its ancient walls.
Uncover the story of the Tower of David Citadel as a symbol and microcosm of the city’s history. View unique items found in the Citadel, posters and postcards, that were inspired by it. Climb the Phasael Tower to reach the most beautiful observation point in the city offering a 360° panoramic view encompassing the past, present and future of the city.
Two galleries for temporary exhibits on contemporary topics complete the experience, and offer the visitor a rich, varied experience of the story of Jerusalem.
