Permanent Exhibit

10 Galleries combining innovative technology, archaeological finds, and ancient artifacts

*Entrance to galleries is included in the entrance ticket to the Museum*

The new permanent exhibit at the Tower of David Jerusalem Museum invites the visitor to embark on a journey to the center of the world, the city holy to 3 religions: Judaism, Christianity, and Islam. The exhibit includes 10 galleries combining archaeological finds, documents, and artistic works together with innovative, interactive stations, video-art productions, and movies produced especially for the exhibit.

In the permanent exhibit, discover the city that large empires, from the East to the West, wanted to rule through the course of almost 4000 years; learn the Jerusalem of the physical realm and the Jerusalem that symbolizes the eternal connection between God and man; celebrate Jerusalem as a interfaith and multicultural meeting place through the holiday cycle of the 3 religions, in an unusual intimate movie created by the illustrator David Polonsky; experience a bird’s eye view of the city at the beautiful model from the 19th century, that sheds light on a moment in time of bygone days in Jerusalem when the city spread outside of the walls; uncover the story of the Tower of David Citadel as a symbol and microcosmos of the city’s history and showcase for items found in the Citadel and posters and postcards inspired by it; and climb the Phasael Tower, the most beautiful observation point in the city offering a 360° panoramic view including the past, present and future of the city.

Two galleries for temporary exhibits on contemporary topics complete the experience, and offer the visitor a rich, varied experience of the story of Jerusalem.
