On Jaffa Road, near the market, stands one of the most impressive architectural landmarks built in the early 20th century of the New City – the Shaare Zedek Hospital, founded by the renowned Dr. Moshe Wallach. In the 1980s, after the hospital moved to its new location, the building was used by the Israel Broadcasting Authority, later restored, and declared a heritage site.
Since 2021, the building has been home to The Social Space, a dynamic hub for artists, creators, and diverse nonprofit organizations.
This tour will trace the building’s fascinating history and transformations, explore the activities of The Social Space, and meet some of the organizations currently based there. The visit concludes with a rooftop view over the city.
Please note: The tour is only partially accessible (the rooftop viewpoint is accessible by stairs).
