Accessibility arrangements for the opening
The Tower of David, Jerusalem Museum is located in a medieval citadel near the Jaffa Gate in the Old City of Jerusalem.
Arrival and parking arrangements
The main entrance is the original citadel gate, about 200 m after the entrance to the Old City from the Jaffa Gate, in front of the post office.
The museum does not have reserved parking spaces. However, by prior arrangement, you can drive up to the museum gates in a private car and then park in one of the nearby parking lots, Karta or Mamilla.
Public Transport
.Bus line 38 to Yitzhak Kariv Street (circular line from the Jewish Quarter).
.Bus lines 13, 18, 38 to King David Street
.Light rail – get off at the “City Hall” station, and walk east towards Tzahal Square and the Old City (about 500 meters).
Handicapped toilets
The museum has two accessible restrooms accessed by a lift, one near the main stage and the other near the east exit gate.
Elevators
There are two new elevators in the museum, one near the main stage to access the exhibition rooms and a second elevator accesses the intermediate level. In addition, there are lifts that access the toilets, a moat, and the the top gallery.
Entry with a service animal
You can enter the museum with guide dogs and emotional dogs.
The exhibition and observatories
All the showrooms are accessible, with the exception of the introductory gallery. The room will be fully accessible upon completion of the construction work of the new entrance building.
The observation from the top of Phasael Tower is not physically accessible, but is technologically accessible through 360 photography.
