In 1880, Rahamim Banai left his home in Shiraz, Persia, and set out toward Zion – Jerusalem. His family settled in the city, and his descendants – the Banai family – became some of the cornerstones of Israeli culture.
On the tour, get to know the family and their roots in the Nahlaot neighborhoods and the Mahane Yehuda market. Through memories, songs, and stories, visit their home, their grandfather’s home, the neighborhood synagogue, and more. Listen to the stories of the “Tin Neighborhood,” the Persian Quarter, and the Mahane Yehuda market, accompanied by tales, songs, and plenty of Jerusalem charm
Meeting point: “Shukanyon”, 88 Agripas Street
Ending point: Near Davidka Square
Comfortable shoes recommended | Please arrive at the meeting point about 10 minutes before the tour begins.
