Help Build the Visual Story of the Western Wall

The Tower of David Jerusalem Museum invites you to be part of Eyes on the Wall, a landmark exhibition opening in 2027. We’re searching for photographs, postcards, and visual treasures from family albums and private collections that capture the Western Wall – from the earliest days of photography through 1968.

Opening in 2027 to mark 60 years since the reunification of Jerusalem, Eyes on the Wall will be the first large-scale exhibition of its kind dedicated entirely to the Western Wall – one of the most enduring and unifying symbols in Jewish history. Curated by Dr. Shimon Lev, with associate curator Yael Brandt, the exhibition will explore the Wall’s story across nearly two millennia through the people who gave it meaning: worshippers, visitors, dreamers, pilgrims, and more recently photographers.

While the “Kotel” is today one of the most photographed and recognizable sites in the world, visual documentation from earlier decades remains surprisingly incomplete.

Hidden images may still be waiting in your home! Help us build the visual record of the Western Wall when a personal snapshot can become part of a shared cultural and historical legacy.

Open your albums. Rediscover the past. Be part of history.
