Jerusalem is a city of stories – but not all of them took place in broad daylight. Alongside its written history, generations of traditions, beliefs, and customs developed to help people confront the unknown, including demons and spirits. An entire world of amulets, divination practices, folk remedies, and healing rituals passed from one community to another, leaving their mark on a city where the spirit dwells within the material.

On this tour, we’ll walk through Jerusalem’s spiritual neighborhood – Nachlaot. We’ll hear about the House of the Dead Groom, the rabbi who drove away spirits, and the witch who banished the evil eye. And perhaps, at twilight, we might even awaken a few demons of our own.

Meeting point: Davidka Square
End point: Old Shaare Zedek Hospital
