Jerusalem boasts many homes of important influential people who worked in and contributed greatly to the city. In this series, get to know these personalities and their works by visiting their homes and seeing what is happening in the surrounding area today.
Eliezer and Hemda Ben-Yehuda built their new home in the old Talpiot neighborhood in 1922. Eliezer died shortly after the building was completed, and Hemda and the children lived in the house until her death in 1951.
Visit the home of the Ben-Yehuda family, today housing the Action Reconciliation Service for Peace, a German volunteer organization established after World War II to confront the legacy of Nazism. Meet a representative of the organization who will tell about their work. Continue learning about the thinkers and authors who lived in the neighborhood: pass the homes of sculptor Ya’acov Ben-Dov, Prof. Joseph Klausner, and Nobel prize laureate SY Agnon.
Meeting point: Agnon House: Klausner St 16, Jerusalem.
