On the Walls of the Old City
Tour on the Walls of Jerusalem
Embark on a tour on the Old City walls, some of the most beautiful walls in the world. On the tour examine from up close the work of the Sultan Suleiman the Magnificent, builder of the walls in the 16th century. How much time did it take to build them? Who is buried at the entrance to Jaffa Gate? Why were the walls built and how? And what does the complicated stone work tell us? Walk on the walls of the city, hear about the building method, about aesthetics and style, and about the military strategy that influenced their construction. Tour includes beautiful overlooks on the Old and New City and a light snack of nuts/seeds and arak.
