What’s on the schedule? Treasure hunt activity in the Citadel, tours about pilgrimage to Jerusalem, drawing workshop and costume stations, magnet photo stand, tours in the exhibit “Jerusalem School,” sunset tour on the walls, and a visit to the new permanent exhibit galleries.
Secrets of the Citadel – treasure hunt in the Citadel
Game of challenges and navigation in the Museum galleries and the Citadel courtyards. Appropriate for families with children over age 9. Each family plays at their own pace, every participant wins. Game length: 1-2 hours
Secrets of the Citadel treasure hunt starts at 10:00am, with a new group starting every half hour. Last group starts at 4:00pm.
Guided Tour – Pilgrimage
Guided tour in the Museum galleries and the Citadel on the topic of Passover and pilgrimage, including ascending to the observation point. Appropriate for families with children from age 5. Tour includes meeting with actors.
Tour Length: 1 hr approx
Tours in Hebrew: every hour – first tour at 10:00am, last tour at 4:00pm. Friday: every hour – first tour at 10:00am, last tour at 1:00pm.
Tours in English: 11:30am, 2:30pm. Friday: 11:30am only.
Tour of the Exhibit: “Jerusalem School”
Tour of the exhibit “Spirit of Stone” in the newest gallery at the Tower of David focusing on 100 creative years in Jerusalem. The exhibit presents Hebrew art in Jerusalem until the 1950’s. Among the artists featured in the exhibit: Boris Schatz, Ze’ev Raban, Reuven Rubin, Joseph Zaritsky, Else Lasker-Schuler, Anna Ticho and others.

Sunset Tours on the Walls – at additional cost
At the most beautiful hour of the day – sunset – walk on the Citadel’s walls and climb its towers to the most impressive observation points over Jerusalem, both new and old. Tour includes ascent to the famous Tower of David minaret, normally closed to the public, a peek at the Museum’s new galleries, and a tasty snack (kosher for Passover – includes kitniyot).
Meeting point: Museum entrance, advance registration required
Wednesday and Thursday, 5:30pm | Tour Length: 2 hrs approx
70 NIS adult, 50 NIS child, 35 NIS residents of the North and South conflict areas
Also: Creative workshop about Jerusalem architecture in the “Street Games” gallery, a costume station and a special photo magnet booth.
