Each year, with the arrival of the Hebrew month of Elul, an ancient melody awakens within us—a melody that has accompanied the Jewish people for generations. The sounds and sacred poems emerging from synagogues invite us to pause, turn inward, and reconnect with the soul within us, calling us back to our roots.

“Selichot in the Tahrir Tradition” is much more than a musical performance. It is a gathering of community, tradition, and creativity-a coming together of voices and hearts seeking to sing together, be moved together, and experience the unique spirit of the days of Elul.

This year, we will once again gather for communal singing under the open sky and among the ancient walls of the Tower of David. Led by four singers and accompanied by the Tahrir musicians, the performance will feature new arrangements of ancient piyutim (liturgical poems) and prayers, alongside live contemporary original compositions. Together, we will offer a prayer for a future of blessing, renewal, and light.

For the first time this year, and in response to the great demand in recent years, two separate Selichot performances will be offered: a sunset performance and a night performance-allowing audiences to experience the unique magic of this season through two different perspectives of the Tower of David.
