The Franciscans, or the “Little Brothers”, have been active in the Holy Land for 800 years. On the tour, we’ll get to know about a variety of aspects of their activities and visit sites connected to their presence in Jerusalem. At San Saviour Monastery, the most important bastion of the Fransicans in Israel, we will visit the church, refectory, winery, library and more. Stop in the Casa Nova hostel and ascend to the beautiful observation point on the roof. At the Terra Sancta Archaeology Museum at the Monastery of the Flagellation, important objects are presented that were found in the Franciscan excavations in holy sites, among others. A must-see site for archaeology aficionados everywhere, and especially for those interested in the history of Christian holy sites in Israel. The Dar al-Consul that was renovated and reopened recently is a complex combining housing for the Catholic community and a place for cultural activities. Visit the little-known Ad Coenaculum Monastery on Mt. Zion and discover its garden and chapel there.
