The picturesque neighborhood of Ein Kerem contains ancient traditions and exciting tales. Begin at the famous spring in the heart of the village, Mary’s Spring. From there climb to the highest point of Ein Kerem, the Church of the Visitation, commemorating the exciting meeting between two women who would bring the founders of Christianity to the world: John the Baptist and Jesus. Continue wandering the village’s magical alleyways, and hear about other stories that happened there – from the times of the Canaanites until today. Stop at an expansive observation point over the Gorny monastery with its golden domes, and finish with a visit to the monastery of the Sisters of Our Lady of Sion, the “Secret Garden” of Ein Kerem.
