7:30pm – Gathering and musical selections
8:00pm –
8:15pm– Testimony of Holocaust survivor Ms. Yona Amit
Yona Amit, born in Italy, will share the story of her survival together with her family. She will recount their movement between villages and hiding places, their stay in a monastery, and a perilous escape through the snow-covered Alps. Their arduous journey was made possible thanks to acts of courage and compassion by the Righteous Among the Nations.
Amit and her family fled Nazi-occupied Italy and eventually reached Switzerland. Later, they immigrated to Israel. She went on to raise a family in Jerusalem and became an educator. She is also a bereaved sister, and will share a deeply moving story of survival, resilience, and the enduring spirit of the Jewish people.
The lecture will take place in Ronny Hall.
Free admission, advance registration required
The museum entrance is across from the Mamilla pedestrian mall, a five-minute walk from the Safra light rail station.
